Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology
The surgeons at Beaufort Oral Surgery are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologic conditions of the mouth, jaws, and facial regions. Any growth or change from normal can characterize pathology of these regions of the body. The usual changes can manifest themselves as the following:
- Red or white patches
- Bumps or lumps
- Sores that fail to heal
- Difficulty chewing or swallowing
- Swelling or expansion
- Pain
- Drainage
One thing that should be avoided is to ignore any type of change from normal in the head and neck regions. Pain does not usually occur with oral and maxillofacial pathology until the late stages of a condition.
